Rivet Town to Close!

From the desk of Grace Loudan 22 February 2009:

Dear Rivet Town Citizens,

I'd like to take a moment to thank you all sincerely for your support of Rivet Town I love to build and it makes me very happy to see others enjoy my creations. I hope that is the case for all of you and if you did not come to roleplay, at least spending the time that you have in Rivet Town has brought some entertainment to you.

At the end of March, 2009, it is my intention to close Rivet Town and sell the southern sim. Unfortunately, the cost of the sims is just too great for me to handle alone and the lack of constant traffic and rental incomes makes it hard for me to justify the monthly expense. It's been a lovely ride and I hope a memorable one. I will build again, no doubt. In fact, the ideas are swarming around my brain even as I type this notecard for my next endeavor.

For apartment and shop renters, please do not pay rent again when your current term expires. If you choose to vacate ealier than the expiration of that current term, please know that I will *not* refund rents. If your term runs past the end of March 31st, 2009, I will indeed refund whatever is left over.

I hope you will continue to enjoy Rivet Town through March. Continue with your roleplay and your businesses...continue calling it home and perhaps start your storylines to plan for moving on. Thank you again! I wish you all the very, very best SL and life has to offer.

Grace Loudon

My condolences on the lost of your town. My brother Marcus Mason invites you all to visit Belhaven, and consider continuing your RP adventures there.

Aw, man, that stinks! I entirely understand the motivation for Grace's decision, though. It's a shame. Rivet Town is one of those rare settings in SL that conveys such a sense of place. It practically cries out to be a home for stories.

I'm going to miss it.
